Mechanical Engineering Department of Babu Banarasi Das University was established in 2011 to educate the students in the arena of Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis such that students are able to apply basic knowledge to achieve technological advances. The department has been imparting quality education at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The courses offered by the department are B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. Our mission is to impart knowledge in Mechanical Engineering and Technology to meet the international standards and make the Mechanical Engineering ethically and emotionally strong enough to meet the technological challenges for the well-being of the human kind. Our degree programs help students to become outstanding professionals, prepared to impact modern society in all manners through the application of cutting edge technology. The course curriculum is being revised from time to time so as to keep abreast with the latest developments and emerging technologies.
The department has highly qualified and motivated faculty members from top notch universities of India with publications in international and national journals and conferences in the area of Thermal Engineering, Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Renewable Energy and Smart Materials.
The program will continually meet the skills and competency expectations of industry and ensures placement for every student.
The Department has laboratories of Mechanics, Material testing, Refrigeration & Air conditioning, Heat and Mass transfer etc., along with a functional workshop to serve practical class work for all undergraduates, and special machine tools which serve project and research interests of faculty members and students. The department also houses a CAD/CAM laboratory with 30 state-of-the-art computers and work stations fully loaded with CAD/ CAM software.
