Industrial visit by the Department of Civil Engineering

An industrial visit was organised by the Department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering, BBD University, Lucknowat3^rd Water Works (Water Treatment Plant), Gomti Nagar,Lucknow,Uttar Pradesh on 22^nd April 2024. The students and faculty members travelled to water treatment plant by the University’s bus.The visit aimed to provide an exposure to students about practical knowledge of water treatment plant. During visit, each unit of the water treatment plant (WTP), Gomti Nagar, Lucknow was found in working condition. Shri Ramesh Chandra, Executive Engineer, JalkalVibhag, Nagar Nigam Limited, Lucknowexplained about working process of each unit of the plant to the students.The students learnt about step-by-step treatment process of lake waterpassing through different units at the site. They also learnt about various design parameters of the WTP units, methods of water testing parameters in the laboratory setup at the plant site, permissible limits of water quality parameters as per IS:10500-2012, etc. Safety measures were also explained to the students by Mr. Chandra.
