Special lecture on Concepts in Architecture

A Special lecture was delivered by Ar.Richa Bajpai, Architect to familiarize and explain the various concepts in Architecture & Interior Design.

Ar.Richa Bajpai Sharma is an architect, Urban designer, researcher and academician. She completed her bachelor’s degree from Government School of Architecture; Lucknow in the year 2004.She went on to complete her master’s from Delhi in the year 2002. She is a teacher by profession and based in Mumbai.

Following process and self explanatory notes were delivered about that

The site plan should be drawn to solve the questions of why, what and how of the project undertaken. The buildings should speak for themselves and design should offer choice and should be adaptable. The site analysis should be done to define the purpose and goals of the project as every site is unique. The buildings should be designed in such a manner that causes minimum damage to the site. The building design should be such that involves proper involvement stakeholder participation.

The site analysis should include the following-

• Light/ Noise/Air analysis so that every individual gets the basic necessities of life.
• The visual form should be evolved in such a manner that the building speaks for itself.
• The systems of circulations should be properly mentioned.
• Location of activities should be involved and linkages should be understood.

Students of B.Arch 2nd year &3rd year actively participated in the event. The Programe ended with the vote of thanks by the coordinator of the event.
