Dean’s Message
As we navigate an age defined by rapid technological change and unprecedented access to information, the role of journalism has never been more critical — or more complex. The future of journalism demands more than just storytelling — it requires vision, adaptability, ethical grounding, and digital fluency. At the School of Mass Communication and Journalism, we are deeply committed to preparing our students for this exciting and challenging future.
Our academic programs are thoughtfully designed to reflect both the foundational principles of journalism and the dynamic demands of the global media landscape. We offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in journalism and mass communication, encompassing areas such as digital media, advertising and public relations, media research, and film and television production —with a strong focus on practical experience, critical thinking, and innovation.
In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, our curriculum is flexible, interdisciplinary, and skill-driven. We encourage students to explore diverse academic interests through choice-based credit systems, skill enhancement courses, internships, and project-based learning. This approach not only broadens intellectual horizons but also equips our graduates with the competencies needed for emerging careers in media, content creation, digital communication, data journalism, and beyond.
Looking ahead, we believe that journalism will continue to be the conscience of society — a vital force that questions, informs, and connects. It is our mission to empower the next generation of media professionals to uphold these values, while embracing the tools and technologies that will define the media of tomorrow.
