The Science Club of the School of Basic Sciences, Babu Banarasi Das University, successfully organized a Science Expo on the occasion of National Science Day, 28th February 2026, as part of the University’s Annual Fest UTKARSH. The overarching theme of UTKARSH, “Virasat se Vikas Tak”, beautifully aligned with the National Science Day 2026 theme, “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat.”
The event featured two major competitions — Model Making Competition and Poster Making Competition — aimed at fostering scientific temperament, creativity, and innovation among students. Participants enthusiastically presented working models and insightful posters highlighting the role of science and technology in nation-building, with special emphasis on the contributions of women scientists toward a developed India.
The program was sensitized and guided by Dr. (Prof.) S. Ahmad Ali, Dean, School of Basic Sciences, who encouraged students to integrate traditional knowledge with modern scientific advancements in the spirit of “Virasat se Vikas Tak.” In his address, he emphasized the pivotal role of youth and women scientists in shaping the vision of Viksit Bharat.

The Science Expo witnessed active participation from students across various departments and attracted a large audience of faculty members and students. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and prizes, marking a successful celebration of scientific innovation and intellectual heritage.
