School of management at BBD University held its annual management fest “UDGAM” for PG students on May 3, 2024, at the illustrious Akhilesh Das Auditorium in Lucknow campus. The successful implementation of the program owes much to the visionary direction of Mrs. Alka Das Gupta, Chairperson of BBD Educational Group, and Mr. Viraj Sagar Das, President of the Group, alongside the insightful guidance of Professor (Dr.) A.K. Mittal, the University’s Vice Chancellor.
Far from being confined to textbooks and classrooms, UDGAM offers a dynamic platform for students to expand their horizons and nurture their talents. This year’s UDGAM, festivities commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a captivating Ganesh Vandana as the opening ceremony. Dr. Sushil Pande-Dean, SOM and Dr Kamil Rizvi- Dean Student Welfare, then graced the occasion with their inspiring address, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings.
The highlight of the event was the motivational speech delivered by the guest speaker, Mr.Shrish Mudgal- a Marketing professional with an impressive track record spanning over 25 years in the corporate sector. Mr Mudgal is currently serving as the Regional Head of Market Development at Business Standard newspaper. From there, the event unfolded into a whirlwind of activities, both on-stage and off-stage, beginning with “Buzz Finance,” where participants showcased their financial acumen. The coveted first position was clinched by Pranjal Mishra and Abhishek Tiwari from School of Management-MB16. Next up was the “E-Cell Startup Quiz,” attracting participants eager to test their entrepreneurial knowledge. As the day unfolded, the management fest gained depth with the addition of “HR Dilemma – A Case Study” and “Finword,” meticulously organized by the HR and Finance teams respectively. This was followed by “Quizophile, a marketing quiz competition, with Jyoti Maurya and Tushar from National PG College, clinching the top position. In another riveting marketing challenge dubbed ‘Examine the Situation,’ participants’ showcased remarkable prowess, yet it was Nandita Sharma from School of Management-MB12 who emerged victorious.
Afterwards, a skit highlighting the importance of voting, particularly for first-time voters, was performed. Subsequently, all faculty members and attendees took an oath regarding voting, as part of a campaign initiated by Mr. Indramani Tripathi, Vice President of the Lucknow Development Authority. Following the prize distribution ceremony and oath-taking, a cultural extravaganza unfolded, featuring seven activities: solo dance, solo singing, group dance, talent shows, rangoli, sketching, and handcrafting. Lastly, Dr. Saif Abbas Abidi, the convener of the program, took to the stage to express gratitude to all participants and students for their unwavering support and dedication.
