The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving.
Machine Learning (ML) is a subset of AI that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. It focuses on the development of computer programs that can access data and use it to learn for themselves.
The core difference lies in scope: while AI is the broader concept of machines being able to carry out tasks in a smart way, ML is a current application of AI based around the idea that we should really just be able to give machines access to data and let them learn for themselves.
