Research & Development

The school believes in utility based research and this fact is proved by selection of its students for pursuing research in reputed research institutes like Central Drug Research Institute (C.S.I.R.), Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR), Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (C.S.I.R.) and pursuing their career in pharmaceutical industries like Glaxo Smithkline, Alkem, Emcure, Dabur, Ranbaxy, Lupin, Aristo, Wockhardt, Mcleods, Intas, ModiMundi etc.

The main objectives of the School is to impart quality education and training facilities in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences, to become a center of excellence in pharmaceutical education, to encourage and pursue utility based research in emerging areas of Pharmaceutical Sciences and assist in the better human healthcare, to collaborate with Pharmaceutical industries and organizations for R & D activities. The MOU with Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR), Lucknow) has further sharpened our quality research skills.

Our other strengths lies in well equipped state of the art labs, well balanced blend of both experienced & young, qualified and dedicated faculty members, rich library which hosts adequate number of quality books, international journals, national journals and e-journals, optimum utility of the available Instruments, collaborative utility based research, classroom equipped with modern teaching aids, good placement record, adequate funds, adequate chemicals and glassware, uninterrupted power supply.
Other facilities like Administrative area, Stores, Computer Laboratory, Wi-Fi Enabled Internet Facility is also there.

Research Areas

The School has identified four major areas of research as its thrust areas.
  • Drug Delivery Research - Nanotechnology, Polymeric nanoparticles, SLNs, NLCs, Microparticulate delivery, drug targetting, in-situ gels, self emulsifying drug delivery systems, Layer-by-layer technology, mucoadhesive patches, solubility enhancement techniques etc.
  • Synthetic & Medicinal Chemistry - Antiinflammatory, Analgesic, Antidiabetic, Antioxidant, Antimicrobial & C.N.S. related activities of various pharmacophores like 4-Thiazolidinones, Thiazolidinediones, Benzoxazoles, Pyrazolones, Oxadiazoles etc.
  • Phytopharmaceuticals - Standardization of Herbal Drugs, Phytopharmacology (Specialized Neuropsychopharmacology lab), Development of Animal Models for evaluation, Isolation of Phytoconstituents etc.
  • Analytical Method Development - Simultaneous estimation of bioactives by H.P.L.C., H.P.T.L.C. and other sophisticated techniques etc.
